Vehicles are fitted with rear brake calipers which have a visual wear indicator

The measurement (X) represents the thickness of the lining
.

(C) = Boss

(D) = Housing edge
.


(X) = Thickness of the lining
.

OPERATION



As the brake pads gradually become worn, the caliper moves
.


When the measurement (X) reaches zero, the pads must be changed
.

REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR CHECK



Place the vehicle on a lift
.


Visually check the distance (X) between the boss (C) and the edge of the cup (D)
.


When dimension (X) is zero, the pads must be changed
.
