proximal 2/3 of medial surface of fibula,
adjacent intermuscular septa, and deep
fascia
Insertion
Tuberosity of the navicular bone and by
fibrous expansions to the sustentaculum
tali, three cuneiforms, cuboid, and bases
of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsal bones
Actions
Foot inversion; assists ankle joint plantar
flexion
