1. Within the Module 18 database, right-click the Cubes folder, point to New Cube, and then click Wizard.
2. Click Next to skip the welcome screen.
3. Click sales_fact_1997 and then click Next.
4. Double-click store_sales, store_cost, unit_sales, and then click Next.
5. Double-click Store, Product, and Time.
6. Click the New Dimension button, click Next, click Star Schema, click Next, click customer, and then click Next twice.
7. Double-click country, state_province, city, lname, and then click Next.
8. In the Lname level, click “customer"."customer_id" in the Member Key Column list, and then click Next twice.
9. Type Customer in the Dimension name box, and then click Finish.
10. Click the New Dimension button, click Next, click Star Schema, click Next, click customer, and then click Next twice.
11. Double-click gender and then click Next three times
12. Type Gender in the Dimension name box, deselect the Share this dimension with other cubes checkbox, and then click Finish.
13. Click Next, click Yes to count the fact table records, type Sales in the Cube name box, and then click Finish.
14. Expand the Product dimension, click the Product Name level, click the Advanced tab of the properties pane, and then click Yes in the Disabled property.
15. Save Sales, close the Cube Editor, and then click No.
16. Expand the Shared Dimensions folder, right-click Customer, and then click Edit.
17. Click the Lname level, click the Basic tab of the properties pane, rename the level to Customer, and then change the Member Name Column to:
"customer"."lname"+', '+"customer"."fname"

18. Expand the Customer level, right-click the Member properties folder, and then click New Member Property.
19. Click education, click OK, right-click the Member properties folder again, click New Member Property, click yearly_income, and then click OK.
20. Save Customer and close the Dimension Editor.
21. Right-click the Shared Dimensions folder, point to New Dimension, click Wizard, click Next, click Virtual Dimension, and then click Next.
22. Click the Customer dimension, click Next, double-click Customer.Education, and then click Next twice.
23. Type Education in the Dimension name box, click Finish, and then close the Dimension Editor.
24. Right-click the Shared Dimensions folder, point to New Dimension, click Wizard, click Next, click Virtual Dimension, and then click Next.
25. Click the Customer dimension, click Next, double-click Customer.Yearly Income, and then click Next twice.
26. Type Yearly Income in the Dimension name box, click Finish, and then close the Dimension Editor.
27. Right-click the Shared Dimensions folder, point to New Dimension, click Wizard, click Next, click Virtual Dimension, and then click Next.
28. Select the Display member keys and names checkbox, click the Time dimension, click Next, double-click Quarter., and then click Next twice.
29. Type Quarter in the Dimension name box, click Finish, and then close the Dimension Editor.
30. Expand the Module 18 database, expand the Cubes folder, right-click Sales, and then click Edit.
31. Right-click the Dimensions folder and then click Existing Dimensions.
32. Double-click Quarter, Yearly Income, and Education, and then click OK.
33. Save the cube, close the Cube Editor, and then click No.
34. Expand the Module 18 database, expand the Cubes folder, expand the Sales cube, right-click the Partitions folder, and then click New Partition.
35. Click Next, click Change, click sales_fact_1998, click OK, and then click Next.
36. Click the Time dimension, expand All Time within the Members pane, click 1998, and then click Next twice.
37. Type Sales 1998 in the Partition name box, click Copy the aggregation design from an existing partition, and then click Finish.
38. Expand the Module 18 database, expand the Cubes folder, expand the Sales cube, right-click the Partitions folder, and then click New Partition.
39. Click Next, click Change, click sales_fact_dec_1998, click OK, and then click Next three times.
40. Type December Sales 1998 in the Partition name box, click Copy the aggregation design from an existing partition, and then click Finish.
41. Right-click the Sales cube, click Process, click OK, and then click Close when the cube finishes processing.
