Anticipated problems: Students may finish doing exercises earlier. The teacher prepares

some additional exercises.

Procedures	Aims	Interaction	Time
1. Warmer. T asks Ss to write as many places in town as they can think of. T asks the pairs how many words the wrote, the pair with the most words write them on the board.	- to activate students	T-Ss S1, S2, S3	5min.
2. Ss look at the map and find the places. T plays CD, students repeat the words. T drills pronunciation if necessary.	- to introduce new words of places	S1, S2 T-Ss	7min.
3. T tells Ss that Linda is going to Greg's party, T elicits the meaning of directions and makes sure that everybody knows where the directions start (at the bus stop opposite the cinema) In pairs Ss follow the directions and try to work out where Greg lives. T asks them to mark the route on the map.	- to introduce and practice the directions	T-Ss S1, S2, S3… Ss-T	8min.
4. Ss look at Greg's email again and complete sentences. T checks orally. T elicits the following: - walk down the road until you get to the traffic lights - keep walking until you come to a roundabout - take the first road on the right T asks Ss to give directions to some places on the map orally.	- to give directions	S1, S2, S3…	10min.
5. Individually, Ss think of place a in their town and write directions of how to get there from their school. In pairs, Ss read their directions to each other and work out where the place is.	- to practice giving diving directions	S-S Ss-Ss	7min.
6. Listen. T tells Ss that Bob and Linda have a problem, they are looking for Greg's house. T plays the CD, Ss mark the sentences. Check as a class.	- to practice listening for direction	T-Ss S1, S2, S3…	5min.
