„Images of Poland” poster project.
We decided to take part in this project to spread the real view of Poland. The stereotypes should finally be broken, so we tried to design our poster as cleverly as we could. In our opinion it is quite accurate. We included all of the things Poland should be associated with and divided them into themes.
The most important issue of the country is the people. The truth is that nowadays more and more of young people study and want to get higher education. The knowledge of foreign languages is also increasing. That's why we sticked some pictures of them.
Another feature that can't be omitted is Polish traditionalism and attachment to religion, which has still survived and is strongly connected with Poland's complex history. Don't forget that John Paul II - the pope - is Polish.
The next aspect we would like to mention is Polish people family ties, which are extremely important and it is not rare to have two or three generations living under same roof. The picture of the house is supposed to symbolize that.
In addition “bigos” - (sauerkraut cooked with pork, sausages and mushrooms) a typical Polish dish is being .
Furthermore Polish houses and families are known for their hospitality. Anyone ho comes to live in a Polish house is surprised by the generosity and kindness of its hosts.
Moreover, we included pictures of famous people who were born in Poland and who have spread our country's name all over the world and we think it would be not very polite of us to forget about them.
Last but not least, we included some pictures of Polish girls, as they are known as one of the most beautiful in the world.
If we overcome the stereotypes we have about other nations and become more open - minded towards others, communication and friendly relations will be much easier. I hope our project will help to achieve this goal.
