Units 1-5
Presenter Today on the programme we have Ally from Newlands School. Ally wants to tell us about a fashion show. Is that right Ally?
Ally Yes. The students at my school are organising a fashion show for next Friday. That's the 18th March and we want lots of people to come!
Presenter So, can you tell our listeners - why are you having this fashion show?
Ally Well, we want to get some money to build a swimming pool at the school. There isn't a pool at the moment and we have to go to the pool in the town centre. So, we're doing lots of things to raise some money.
Presenter What a good idea! So, tell us about the show.
Ally The students are designing and making all the clothes for it. There are lots of good ideas. There's a competition too. The audience can choose the best dress.
Presenter It sounds fun!
Ally Yeah! Also - we want people to wear their best clothes to the show. We want it to be a very special evening!
Presenter And what about the times.
Ally Oh yes - it's from 8.30 to 10.30 and the tickets are £10. And for that you get sandwiches too.
Presenter OK! Thank you, Ally. I hope a lot of people come to your show and that it's a great success. Good luck!
Units 6-10
Presenter The Peters family have just returned from a holiday in Scotland and they're going to tell us about it. First Mike - you're the dad. What was Scotland like for you?
Mike Well, I loved it! I particularly liked the scenery. We drove through beautiful mountains and saw some very pretty lakes and rivers. Sometimes we didn't see a house for hours!
Presenter And what about you, Sue?
Sue For me the best days were in the country hotel. We just relaxed. It was quiet and peaceful and Mike and Sam did some fishing. The restaurant and the meals were excellent - especially the fresh fish and wonderful vegetables!!
Presenter And you Sam? Did you have a good time?
Sam Yeah - it was OK. It was a bit quiet for me though. And we didn't meet many new people. Also - there wasn't a lot to do in the evenings. But we spent two nights in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland and Jenna and I went to a night club. That was good.
Presenter Do you think the same as Sam, Jenna?
Jenna Well, yeah. I preferred the time in Edinburgh. There were some good shops and we went to a theatre one night too. The Scottish people were really friendly and I'd like to back again.
Presenter And lastly, Jake. You're the youngest. Did you like Scotland?
Jake Oh yeah. I liked the animals. When we went for walks we saw a lot of animals. But we didn't see a monster in Loch Ness! I liked the music. At the hotel they played this funny instrument - and some people did a Scottish dance! It was fun! I tried it too, but I wasn't very good!
