“We are hoping to attract present conscripts to join the professional army. We are planning to raise the age limit from 25 to 30 at the same time lowering educational requirements from senior high school certificate to junior high school certificate.” - MOD Official

- Professional Army? Who will pay for this? It will be more expensive than the conscripted army!!
- Soldiers can retire so early and we have to pay their pensions.
- Soldiers want a flat of their own? So do I! We can't afford to give them all flats.
- Why should the army be so big? We are in NATO after all and they will protect us.
- Quantity doesn't go together with quality. 60,000 soldiers would be enough!!!
(From a street survey)
Only professional soldiers can be real specialists.
A small well-equipped professional army can win any war. Just like Americans did in Iraq.
I just hope that money for the reform will not come from salaries which are low anyhow.
