Paul Are there any May Day celebrations in your village?
Gemma Yes. We have them every year.
Paul So what happens?
Gemma We have a May Queen. One of the girls from the local secondary school.
Paul Right.
Gemma And of course the May Day parade.
Paul What happens there?
Gemma It's a charity thing. A few floats, the May Queen and a fete afterwards. They usually raise quite a lot of money.
Paul Do you go along?
Gemma Usually if the kids want to.
Paul Do you have a maypole?
Gemma Yes. That's the fun bit for the kids. They like dancing around with the ribbons.
Paul Well, I may bring my kids along too. What time does it start?
Gemma About 11. Yes, come along. The weather is supposed to be nice.
