Dry Embossing
When you dry emboss, you use a stylus to transfer the design on a template to your paper, leaving a raise image on the paper. It is best to use white or very light paper so you can see the design on the template through the paper when the light shines through it.
Step 1:
Lay the template on the light table; you may want to tape it down so it can't move. Place the paper on top of the template. Turn the light on and align the paper appropriately on top of the template, so the design will be where you want it.
Step 2:
A stylus has two ends; each a different size. Use the size that bests fits the size of the design. The light shines through the paper so you can see the design on the template. Use the stylus to trace around the edges of the design on the template.
Step 3:
When you've traced the entire design turn it over. You can leave it like this or dust the raised surface with pastels.
