Meditations
When my mind is racing and my chest is tight with tension the last thing I want to do is meditate. "How can I make my mind sit still if I can't seem to make my body still?" Well, that's probably the time when I need it the most. I got to looking at yesterday's post and realized that I have been pushing the Goddess aside. I have been closing off the valve of peace from the Divine that is mine freely to have if I will just only take it. Light the candles and the incense, it's time for some meditation.
A couple of years ago, I picked up a book I'm sure a lot of you have heard of-- Mindlight: Secrets of Energy, Magick & Manifestation by Silver Ravenwolf. When I first purchased it, I was gung-ho and really into my meditations, but over time, it got set back on the shelf like a lot of things. Well, now is the time to really start cracking it open again. One of the meditations that I really like (I'm not very far into to the book) is the following:
Chakra Breathing Meditation:
1) Close your eyes.
2) Take three deep, even breaths to stablize.
3) Surround yourself with white light.
4) Imagine a ball of red light entering your root chakra with the next intake of breath. All the read light to energize the body as you breathe in and to leave the body as you breathe out. Do this three times.
5) Imagine a ball of orange light entering your sacral chakra with next intake of breath. All the orange light to energize the body as your breathe the light in and to leave the body as you breather out. Do this three times.
6) Imagine a ball of golden-yellow light entering your solar plexus chakra with the next intake of breath. Allow the golden-yellow light to energize the body as you breathe the light in and to leave the body and your breathe the light out. Do this three times.
7) Imagine a ball of green or pink (your preference) light entering your heart chakra with the next intake of breath. All that light to energize your body as you breathe the light in and to leave the body as your breathe the light out. Do this three times.
8) Imagine a ball of blue light entering your throat chakra with the next intake of breath. Allow the blue light to energize the body as you breathe the light in and leave the body as you breathe the light out. Do this three times.
9) Imagine a ball of violet light entering your third eye chakra with the next intake of breath. All the violet ligh to energize the body as you breather the light in and to leave the body as you breathe the light out. Do this three times.
10) Imagine a ball of white light entering your crown chakra with the next intake of breathe. All the white light to energize the body as you breathe the light in and to leave the body as you breathe the light out. Do this three times.
11) Take three deep, even breaths to stabilize. Open your eyes.
I have a wonderful set of four discs with soothing meditation music from all around the world--I spotted the set on clearance around the same time I got the book. I also play these while I do my cleansing bath.
I hope to be doing much more work with this book of meditations on a daily basis. It's something I really need. Even if it's just ten minutes before bed.
Also, I've seen these floating around on the the internet and I'm seriously thinking of making myself some: prayer beads. Not only do I think these will help me sit still during mediations and chants, but I also feel like they will be stepping stones in helping me focus on raising energy.
In the near future, I will be delving into more aspects of the Crone. Like Dark Mother said, we learn from the shadows. I think I will reclaim my my power there, so to speak.
I don't normally end with questions, but what do you think of prayer beads? When you explored the Darkness what steps did you take and how did it empower you? Dish!
Blessed be!
