Here are some creative ways to use the Polaroid Collage Action.
Instead of starting with one big image 9" X 9", you can open a 9" X 9" X 300 ppi canvas, set your grid to 1.500", then bring in 36 1.500" X 1.500" images.
Flatten then run the action. You will end up with 36 different Polaroid pictures.
Once you get this concept, then go the next step, mix up the composition with anything that is incremental of 1.500", like 3" X 3", 3" X 6", 1.500" X 4.500", 4.500" X 4.500" and so on. Layout your images any way you want, provided it snaps to the grid.
At the end of the action, go back in history a couple of steps before the layers were merged, then you can move and rotate the polaroid pics around for a more hand done look.
Transform, move rotate, etc.
With this Read Me are some layout suggestions, the number in the lower right corner indicates the number of images used in the template.
How to make an 8" X 10" X 300 ppi landscape collage with 24 pictures:
A 9" X 9" Image makes a 11" X 14" X 300 ppi composite image with 36 pictures.
You can take your 4" X 6" X 300 ppi image and change to 6" X 9" X 300 ppi, using image size.
Then change the canvas size, so image is now 9" X 9" X 300 ppi (3" of white space below your 6" X 9" image).
Run Action. When it ends, go back in history before flatten. Go to your layers palette and delete the bottom 12 layers, to keep the good 24 layers. Use crop tool to crop the overall image to 8" X 10" X 300 ppi.
