Fasten off, leavmg a long taił for sewing, and set asidc.

Using green yarn.

Ch 8. and starting at second bump (the "bumps" are on the opposite side of. or behind. the bratdllke ch where you usually crochet) from hook.

*Sl st 1, sc 1. dc 1. Ir 1. dc 1. sc 1. sl st 1 •. rep on the opposite side twhich now looks like regular sc because you crocheted in the bumps)

Fasten off. Ieaving a long taił for sewing. and set aside.

APPLE

Using red yam.

Rl: Ch 2. 6 sc in second ch from hook. R2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 stsl R3: 'Sc 1. 2 sc In next sc*. rep 6 times. (18 sts)

R4: "Sc 2. 2 sc In next sc*. rep 6 times. (24 sts)

RS: *Sc 3. 2 sc in next sc*. rep 6 times. (30 sts)

R6: *Sc 4.2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (36 sts)

R7: "Sc 5, 2 sc in next sc*. rep 6 times. (42 sts)

R8-17: Sc 42.

R18: *Sc 5. dec 1*. rep 6 times.

(36 sts)

R19: 'Sc 4. dec 1 *, rep 6 times.

(30 sts)

R20: • Sc 3, dec 1 *. rep 6 times.

(24 sts)

Work on face: Attach 9 mm eyes and embroider mouth.

Sew stem and leaf to top of apple (it's easier to attach them now when you can work from the inside).

R21: * Sc 2, dec 1 *. rep 6 times.

(18 sts)

R22: Sc 18.

Stuff almost to the top.

R23: * Sc 1. dec 1 *. rep 6 times.

(12 sts)

Finish stuffing.

R24: ♦ Sk 1 sc. sc 1 \ rep 6 times.

Fasten off. and weave in ends.

WORM

Using green yarn.

Rl: Ch 2.8 sc in second ch from hook. R2-4: Sc 8.

Work on face: Attach 6 mm eyes and embroider mouth.

R5 and 6: Sc 8. stuffing as you go.

R7: Sc 4 through back loops only. sc 4. R8: Hdc 4. sc 4.

R9: Sc 4.

Fasten off. Ieaving a long tai! for sewing. and sew to apple.
