Thread cutting
Execution of a thread cut
Possibilities : - longitudinal thread
- transverse thread
- tapered thread
- single and multiple start threads with a constant pitch
- variable pitches and taper angles by chaining thread cutting blocks
Each thread cut is to be programmed individually. The feed, back-out and return traverse motions must be written in separate blocks. Threads with different taper angles or different pitches can be programmed in direct succession.
This programir.ing can be simplified in many cases with canneć cycle G83.
I
r Longitudinal threads can also be programmed mors simply with cycle G84.
j The following must be entered with G33 :
- Terminal point of thread cut in transverse direction under X
- Terminal point of thread cut in longitudinal direction under Z
- Thread pitch
- either under F (with tapered thread for longest coordinate)
- or under I for transverse direction
- or under K for longitudinal direction
- or under I and K for tapered threads
