Fuel Tank

Fuel tank capacity is 10.5 f (2.8 US gal) in-cluding 2.5 f (0.66 US gal) in the reservc supply.

To opon thc fuel tank cap (1), insert the ig-nition key (2) and turn it clockwise. The cap will pop up and can be lifted off. Automotivc gasolinc with a pump octane number (^R \ ^M)of 86or higher, or a

(2)    Ignition key

research octane numbcr of 91 or higher may be used. If “knocking” or “pinging” oc-curs, try a different brand of gasoline or a higher octane grade.

CAUTION:

* Should knocking or pinging persist white holding a steady speed on a level road, try changing brands of gasoline. If knocking or pinging still persists, consult your Honda dealer.

To closc the fuel tank cap, align the latch in the cap with the slot in the filier ncck.

Fush cap into the filier neck until it snaps closed and locks. Remove the key. The fuel tank cap locks automatically.

^WARNING

*    Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under certain conditions. Re fuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks in the area where the motorcycle is refueled or stored.

*    Do not overfill the tank (there should be no fuel in the filier neck). After refuel-ing, make surę the tank cap is closed securely.
