MATERIALS:

About 50 yards (1 bal Is or 10 gr) of no. 20 crochei couon, ecru. A Steel crochei hook US slzc no. 8 (1.25 mm) or use the size you need lo obiain ihe spcciflcd lcnsion.

SIZE:

T' (18 cm) square.

TO MAKE:

Rnd 1: Work 8 ch sts, join with a sl si. and into ring Ihus formed work 16 double crochets (trebles). replacing ihc first dc (tr) of the rnd with 3 ch sts: dose this and each md up to Rnd 5 inclu$ive with a sl st in the 3rd ch st at beg. Rnd 2: Again working 3 ch to counl as first dc (tr) of md. work 4 timcs as follows: * 1 dc (tr), 2 ch, I dc (tr) ovcr corrcsp st (scc chait), 2 ch. skip 1 st and work l single crochei (double crochct) in the ncxt st, 2 ch * Rnds 3-5: Follow the chart. Rnds 6-12: Form the pineapple motifs by working 3-ch st loops and shape the motifs separating the pineap-ples with dc (tr) and chain lps. Close each md with a sl st over the sc (dc) at beg and work forward with a sl st in each st until you reach the central st of the first ch lp. Rnds 13-18: Cont as eslab-lishcd, following the chart; close each md by replacing the last 3 or 4 ch sts of the finał ch lp with I double crochei (treble) or I tre-blc (double treble) ovcr the sc (dc) at beg of md. Close the last md with 1 sc (dc) and fasten off.
