The overall goal is for students to aain an understanding of the three-dimensional anatomy of the brain. There are specific objectives on which the students may be tested. Students will not be tested on cases with abnormal findings or diagnoses.
Students will be able to recognize and identify images from a CT scan and from an MRI scan, and be able to orient them right-left, anterior-posterior, and superior-inferior.
Students will be able to identify major structures on axial CT images of the brain.
Students will be able to identify major structures on axial MRI images of the brain.
Students will be able to list age-related changes in the normal brain, and describe how these age-related differences might appear and CT and MRI images.
