Book News. When you write your own book (see Book section), design a poster to encourage people to read it. Give the title and the author's name. Say whether it is a book for young children, an adventure story, a comic book or whatever. Make the poster so exciting that people would want
to rush out and buy your book.
Design a T-shirt. Many of us wear posters. Look at the T*shirts you see people wearing. Design a logo to print on the front of a T-shirt. It should have a simple message, e.g. Save the Trees, Fragile Earth, etć. You might design a T-shirt for your school with the name of the school and a suitable illustration. it is possible to have these designs printed on to plain white T-shirts.
Design a carrier bag. Many Stores have mini-posters in the form of bags which the customers carry about with them. Design a bag for your town or village. It would need to have the name of the town, a slogan inviting people to visit and a design showing what is special about it, e.g. a beach umbrellaTa boat or a shell for a seaside town; a book or a towerlor a university town etc.
Ride round the Sun. Design a poster for the first space shuttle to take passengers round the sun and into space. Again the message must be simple, but very exciting e.g.
Chinese banners. Make long Chinese banners to welcome spring, summer, autumn and winter. Decorate with Chinese-style lettering in black felt-tip pen or paint. Make and colour symbols to suggest the seasons. Make these banners very beautiful. Let them hang in the hall or, better stilh on trees outside in the school grounds. They will move and sway in a light breeze. Yóu may be able to copy some authentic Chinese greetings, as banners are often used in welcome.'
