Make a photocopy of the People Who Work with Foods cards from pages 62 and 63. Review the eards with Ihc children and talk with them about all of the things that happen to foods from the time they are grown to the time they are eaten. Discuss all of lho people involved, including the farmers who grow the food, delivery truck drivcrs who pick it up and takc it where it needs to go, groccry storę workers who stock and sell the foods, parcnls who purchase the foods, and chefs and servcrs in restaurants who prepare and bring out the food. f,et students revicw the cards and identify the people who work with food

Cut, color, and laminate several copies of the food cards from pages 39-49. Allow each child to select a few cards showing foods be likes and have him gluc the cards to green construction paper. Let the student repeat the steps with foods ho doesn’t like, this time gluing the cards to red construction paper. Allow the children to compare their papers to the papers of other students. Studcnts can orally identify classmates that have similar likes and dislikes witli sentenccs such as, “I am like Pliillip because we both like ice cream," or, *"1 am like Anita because we both dislike peas."
Skills: Yisual Discrimination, Making Comparisons Activity:
Talk with students about characteristics of eggs. Discuss the fact that eggs can be different colors or sizes, hut that they are still eggs. Compare this to the way that people may look different but arc all still people.
