|3rd. Officer is responsible for mainfenance of all Life Saving Appliances.

2nd Officer is responsible for mainfenance of aii Fire Fighting Appliances.

GENERAL LIFEBOAT INSTRUCTION


All personnel to meet at their designated lifeboat.wearing suitable warm ciothing. All personnel to wear lifejackets prior to preparing lifeboats for launching.

REPORT IF ANYBODY IS MISSING

Confirm to Boat Commander when his orders have been carried out.

Liferafts to be prepared as per Boat Commander‘s orders.

LIFEBOAT DRILL.

All personnel to gain experience in all aspects of launching procedures. Lifejackets to be worn throughout drill.

LAUNCHING OF LIFEBOATS TO TAKE PLACE ONLY ON DIRECT ORDERS FROM THE MASTER.

CHIEF OFFICER

In charge if fire on deck and in accomodation. Report to Master as soon as arrived on scene.



CHIEF ENGINEER In charge if fire in machinery spaces.Report to Master as soon as arrived on scene. Release COt on order from Master only.


Activate alarm signal on detection of fires, no matter how smali the fire seems to be. Try to extinguish a starting fire with extinguishers, blankets etc. If not possible to put out the fire in it’s first minutę, close all ventilation to prevent air reaching the place of fire.

Do not open doors or hatches from areas where smoke is seen to be coming out, unless wearing fire-protection equipment and carrying fire extinguishing equipment. Keep in mind that a smouldering fire may produce invisib!e toxic gasses.

When alarm sounds, proceed immediately to muster station. Rapid response is vital in all cases including drills

REPORT IF ANY PERSON IS MISSING If in port raise alarm and cali for assistance by VHF, Ships Whistle, phone or any other means.
