Check the O-rings of the valve adjusting covers (IN/EX) for damage and replace if necessary.
Install the front and rear valve adjusting covers.
Apply M0S2 pastę grease łpage 2-10) to the timing and crank-case hole caps. Install and tighten them.
T0RQUE:
Timing hole cap:
10 N-m (10 kg-m, 7 ft-lb)
Crankshaft hole cap:
15 N-m (1.5 kg-m, 11 ft-lb)
NOTĘ _
• Perform this maintenance with the engine at normal operat-ing temperaturo.
Remove the fuel tank (page 4-3).
Move the fuel tank on the frame.
Connect the fuel linę to the fuel tank.
Remove the pług from the front cylinder head intake ports and the fuel vacuum tubę from the rear cylinder head intake ports.
Install the vacuum gauge adaptors as shown. Connect the vacuum gauges.

(2) REAR
Warm up the engine and adjust the idle speed with the throttle stop screw.
IDLE SPEED: 1,300 ±100 rpm
3) VACUUM GAUGE ADAPTOR
Check that the difference in vacuum readings between the cyl-inders is 40 mm Hg or less.
Synchronize to the specification by turning the synchroniza-tion adjusting screw.
Recheck the idle speed and synchronization.
Disconnect the gauge adaptors and install the pług and vacuum tubę.
