MAINTENANCE

FUEL LINĘ

Check the fuel linę and vacuum linę, and replace any parts which show deterioration, damage or leakage.

FUEL STRAINER SCREEN

Turn the "fuel valve OFF.

Remove the fuel cup, O-ring and strainer screen, and drain the gasoline into" a suitable Container.

Awarning

•    Gasoline is extremely flammable and is exploslve under cer rain conditions.

•    Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks near the equipment while dralning fuel.

Wash the fuel cup and strainer screen in clean non-flammable or high flash point solvent.

Reinstall the strainer screen.

Reinstall the fuel cup, making surę a new O-ring is in place. Finger-tighten the cup, then torque it.

TOROUE: 4 N-m (0.4 kg-m. 2.9 ft-lb)

After installing, turn the fuel valve ON and check that there are no fuel leaks.

THROTTLE OPERATION

Check for smooth throttle grip fuli opening and automatic fuli closing in all steering positions.

Check the throttle cables and replace them if they are deterio-rated, kinked or damaged.

Lubricate the throttle cables, if throttle operation is not smooth.

Measure throttle grip free play at the throttle grip flange. FREE PLAY: 2-6 mm (1/16-1/4 in)

Minor adjustments are madę with the upper throttle cable ad-juster.

Adjust the free play by loosening the lock nut and turn the ad-juster.

Tighten the lock nut.
