89 TransAlp Manual General Specifications Service 3
CLUTCH SYSTEM
Minor adjustments are madę with the upper adjuster.
Puli the lever cover back, loosen the lock nut and tum the adjuster to obtain the specified free play.
Tighten the lock nut and install the cover.
Check clutch operation.
Major adjustments are madę with the lower adjuster.
Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut to obtain the specified free play.
Tighten the lock nut and check the clutch operation.
SIDE STAND
Check the spring for damage or loss of tension.
Check the side stand assembly for freedom of movement. Lubricate the pivot bolt and the side stand pivot area if neces-sary.
Tighten the pivot nut.
TORQUE: 40 N-m {4.0 kg-m, 29 ft-lb)
