VALVE CLEARANCE

NOTĘ

• inspect and adjust vałve elear ance whiłe the angina is coW (balów 35®C/95°F).

Remove the fuel tank (page 4-3).

Removo the radiator mounting bolta and tha radiator (page 5-

6).

Remove tha crankcasa hole cap and timing hola cap.

Remove tha valva adjusting covars from tha cylinder ha ad cov era.

For tha inspection and adjustmant of the front cylinder head valve claaranca. rotate tha flywhaal countarclockwisa to altgn tha *‘FT" mark wrth tha inda* notch on tha left crankcasa covar.

Make aura the piaton ia at TOC (Top Dead Center) on tha com pression atroke.

FRONT CYLINDER HEAD

Inspect tha claaranca of all thraa valvea by insert ing a fealer gauge between the adjusting scraw and the valve,

VAIVE CLEARANCE:

Intaka: 0.15 mm (0.006 In)

Eshaust: 0.20 mm (0.008 Inl

Adjust by looaaning tha lock nut and turning tha adjusting scraw until thera ia a slight drag on tha fealer gauge.

Hołd the adjusting serów and tighten the lock nut.

TOROUE: 23 Nm (2.3 kg-m. 17 ft-lb)

TOOLS:

Vałve claaranca adjusting wrench 07908 KE90000 or

valva adjust wranch 07908 —KE90100 Wrench. 10 x 12 mm 07708-0030200

Apply oil to tha nut and scraw thread.

REAR CYLINDER HEAD

NOTĘ

• Aftor the Inspection and adjustment of the front cylindor head valve claaranca. rotate the flywheel counterclockwise to align tha "RT" mark with tha index notch on tha left crankcasa cover to mpsect and adjust tha raar cylinder valve claaranca. Make sura tha piston is at TDC (Top Daad Center) on tha compression stroke.

Reor cylindor volve inspection and adjustment ara done In the samo way as front cylinder valve claaranca.
