MAINTENANCE
Clean the drive chain with a non-flammable or high flash point solvent that will not damage the O-rings and wipe dry.
CAUTION
• Do not use steam cleaners high pressure washers or aerosol chain tuhricants as these will damage the O-rings.
• Do not use commercial aerosol chain lubricants. They contain sohents which couid damage the O-rings.
Inspect the drive chain and O-rings for wear or damage. Replace the chain if it is excessively worn or damage.
Lubricate the drive chain with SAE #80 or #90 gear oil.
Check the chain slider for wear or damage.
Replace the drive chain slider if the thickness exceeds the ser-vice limit.
SERVICE LIMIT: 3 mm (1/8 in)
CAUTION
• If the chain slider becomes excessively worn. the chain will wear against the swingami.
Inspect the chain slipper and replace it if the depth of the chain groove exceeds the service limit.
SERVICE LIMIT: 5 mm (3/16 in)
Remove the right side cover and inspect the battery fluid level. When the fluid level is near the lower level, add distilled water to the upper level linę as follows:
Remove the battery (page 16-3).
Puli the battery out. and remove the filier caps and add distilled water to the upper level linę.
Awarning
• The battery electrolyte contains sulphuric acid.
Protect your eyes, skin and clothing.
If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush them thoroughly with water and get prompt medical attention.
Reinstall the filier caps and the battery.
CAUTION
• Add only distilled water. Tap water will shorten the service life of the battery.
