MAINTENANCE

Remove fhe element.

Rep/ace the element in accordance with the maintenance Schedule.

Also, replace the element any time it is excessively dirty or damaged.

Install the air cleaner element.

Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

AIR CLEANER ELEMENT

CRANKCASE BREATHER

Release the drain tubę of the air cleaner case to empty any de-posits.

If any deposits are visible in the transparent parts of the drain tubę, remove the pług from the air cleaner case drain tubes to empty them.

Install the drain pług.

NOTĘ

• Service morę frequently when ridden in rain or at fuli throt-tle or if the deposit level can be seen in the transparent parts of the drain tubę.

SPARK PLUGS

Disconnect the spark pług cap and remove the spark pług.

Visually inspect the spark pług. Discard it if the insulator is cracked or chipped.

Measure the spark pług gap with a wire-type feeler gauge. Adjust the gap by bending the side electrode carefully.

SPARK PŁUG GAP: 0.8-0.9 mm {0.031-0.035 in)

RECOMMENDED SPARK PLUGS:

	NGK	ND
Standard	DPR8EA-9	X24EPR-U9
For cold climate (below 5°C/41 °F)	DPR7EA-9	X22EPR U9
For extended high speed driving	DPR9EA-9	X27EPR-U9

Make surę the sealing washer is in good condition.

Install the spark pług, tighten it by hand, then use a spark pług wrench for the finał tightening.

TOROUE: 14 N-m (1.4 kg-m, 10 ft-lb)
