16-12 REAR SUSPENSION
• Remove the rear shock absorber unit from the frame. Clean and dry it. (£71 216-7)
• Remove the spring from the rear shock absorber unit. (£7216-8)
NOTĘ:
Inspect the rear shock absorber unit for oil leak.
Tum the rebound damping force adjuster screw counterclock-wise until it stops, so that the rear suspension oil can be poured easily.
• Remove the valve cap. Press the valve with a screwdriver to bleed out nitrogen gas.
Releasing high pressure gas from the rear shock absorber unit can be hazardous.
Never perform any servicing until the nitrogen gas pressure has been released from the rear shock absorber unit. When releasing the gas pressure, place a rag over the gas valve and use the tip of a sc r-driver etc. to press the valve. Do not use your fingi o depress the gas valve, and direct the vafve a1 your face and body.
Remove the compression shock absorber.

• Place a drain pan under the rear shock absorber unit.
• Move the rod and drain the oil completely.
Push the valve core again to equalize the bladder to atmo-spheric pressure.
