Slip 1: Edging
I think this one is fairly elear. You will need to wind the bali thread on to a second shuttle to work the rings in the first and third rows. The large circle in the middle of the flower is worked as a chain and closed at the picot. There are some unavoidable distortions in the diagram, which has been opened out for clarification, but if you keep an eye on the photograph, you should not have any trouble. Worked in no. 40 DMC Cordonnet Special, the edging is about 3.5 cm. (1Vi in.) wide, and this should be taken into account if you are using a shop-bought petticoat.
