Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP)

•FAE is an autosomal dominant disorder which typically presents with colorcctal canccr (CRC) in early adult life, secondary to extensive adenomatous polyps of the colon.

•Polyps also develop in the upper gastrointestinal tract and malignancies may occur in other sites including the brain and the thyroid.

*Estimates vary from 1 case in 6,850 persons to 1 case in 31,250 persons
