The sealing of the drop arm bush has also been improved I in conjunction with the modiłied torsion arm sealing which has already been announced. It was thus possible to extend the period between front axle lubrications from 2500 km (1500 miles) to 5000 km (3000 miles).

The Type 1 transmlssion alterations already mentioned will apply to all Transporter models as from August 1965.

For practical reasons the engine compartment lid now has the Type 1 press button mechanism.

A plastic knob on both lock pillars serves as a clothes hook.

The Pick-up and Double Cab Pick-up now have a larger rear window. The new dimensions: 281 X 1135 mm (11.06 X 44.68").

The Transporter models also have the hand-operated dippor switch and the headlamp flasher as in Type 1.

By turning a knob two different wiper speeds can be selected to suit weather conditions.

An "early cut-in type” generator now starts to charge at very Iow engine revolutions. This will facilitate starting and ensure that the battery is always well charged.
