SLEEVES

Sleeves are worked over 2 patches, one from back and one from front, at each side of shoulder seam. With RS facing, smaller needles, D, and beg at lower edge of patch joined for shoulder seam (see diagram), pick up and knit 40 (42, 46, 50, 52) sts along the 2 patches that form the strap of the shoulder, working from back to front on right armhole, front to back on left armhole. Change to larger needles and work in St st for 4 (4, 4'/:, 4'A, 4¹/:)". BO loosely. With RS facing, work Rows 1-3 of edging along BO edge, working Row 1 for sleeves. BO all sts loosely. With tapestry needle and D, sew side edges of sleeves to adjacent patches (first complete row of patches across yoke; see diagram).

FlNISHING

Błock pieces to measurements. With D, sew side seams, beg on 5th row down from body pick-up row (last row of armhole shaping). Weave in ends. □
