The factory has complied with the wishes for increased driving performance in Type 2 models. The output is now 53 bhp (SAE) with a torque of 78.1 ft Ibs. This gives im- • proved acceleration and hill climbing.
Technical modifications and changes to the equipment have been carried out on all Type 2 models. These altera- ! tions will increase the value of the vehicles.
The following engine alterations were carried out:
a - Larger intake and exhaust valves 35.5 and 32 mm (1.396"71.26") respectively reduce the flow resistance in the engine and increase the output to 53 bhp at 4200 rpm.
b - As in Type 1 the camshaft has 3 bearing shells.
c-The new fitted connecting rod bolts are no longer screwed into the connecting rods. They are now secured with a nut. Assembly has been simplified and the connecting rod and cap are now always a concen-tric fit.
d - The previous aluminium bearings for No. 2 main bearing have been replaced by Steel bearing shells which have a wider oil groove.
e-19 cooling fins - previously 14 - increase the total cooling surface.
All these measures will contribute to increased engine life.
The 53 bhp engine is equipped with a 30 PICT carburetor and speed limiter.
