Chapter 2 Part B 2.3L and 2.4L (Quad-4) four-cylinder engines

13    Raise and support the front of the vehi-cle. Remove the right front wheel and tire. Remove the right lower splash shield.

14    Working under the mount, remove the nut from the through-bolt.

15    Raise the engine weight off the mount.

16    Remove the four mount-to-bracket nuts.

17    Remove the mount from the vehicle.

18    Installation is the reverse of removal.

19    Gently lower the engine.

20    Tighten the nuts securely.

1992 and later models

Engine mount

21    Detach the cable from the negative bat-tery terminal.

22    Raise and support the front of the vehi-cle. Remove the right front tire and wheel.

23    Working from the tender well, remove the two mount-to-chassis bolts.

24    Raise the engine weight off the mount.

25    From the engine compartment, remove the nut holding the mount to the chassis.

26    Remove the four bolts holding the engine mount to the mount bracket on the timing cover.

27    Installation is the reverse of removal. Strut mount

28    Detach the cable from the negative bat-tery terminal.

29    Raise and support the front of the vehi-cle. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Remove the right inner splash shield.

30    Raise the engine weight off the mount.

31    Notę installed position of the strut and remove the strut bolts.

32    Installation is the reverse of removal. Be surę to position the front bolt of the lower strut in the correct hole of the engine mount bracket.
