The morę stitches there are in a cable the morę rows are worked between twists. Crossed stitches can move every right side row or with morę rows worked between them.
Morę Crossing cables...
Cr3L or Cr3R could be worked by moving the two knit stitches over one purl background stitch or by moving one knit stitch over two purl background stitches. Cr5L or Cr5R could be worked by moving two knit stitches over three purl background stitches or three knit stitches over two purl background stitches. In a pattem an explanation of the abbreviations used is given. Crossed stitches can be moved on every right stde row or with straight rows in between.
y Cable needles can be straight or they can have a kink in them to stop the stitches falling off.Try both kinds or. if you find the cable needle fiddly to work with because it is too short. try using a short double-pointed needle of the same size as those used for the main knitting.
If you find working the stitches off the cable needle awkward, replace them on to the left-hand needle to work them.
y Use a row counter or make a mark for each row worked on a piece of paper to keep track of the rows between twists of the cable. To count the rows between twists of a cable. look for the row where you worked the twist; you will be able to identify this by following the path of the yam from the last stitch of the cable to the first background stitch for a front cross cable or from the last background stitch to the first stitch of the cable for a back cross cable. On the row below this there will be no connecting strand of yam between these same stitches. Count each strand for every row above the twist row.
This cable throw has each panel knitted scparatcly so it is ideał for practising cables.
