2 smali bowls Nylon linę for hanger
Gauge is not important; your snowflake can be a little larger or smaller without changing the overall effect.
1. Make one blocking pattern for each snowflake by using marking pen to tracę blocking pattern onto tracing paper; cut out traced pattern. Place traced patterns on ironing board or blocking board and cover each pattern with waxed paper.
2. Follow Method A, B, C, or D to prepare stiffening solution; place prepared solution in a smali bowl.
A. Commercial Starch — Follow manufacturer's instructions to mix a heavy solution of starch.
B. Clear-drying Craft Glue Mix equal parts of glue and water.
C. White Granulated Sugar — Mix equal parts of sugar and water in a smali pan and heat to boiling (being careful not to fet it burn); immediately remove from heat. Cool to room temperaturę before using.
D. Commercial Fabric Stiffener — Follow manufacturer's instructions to use stiffener. (Notę: This is the most du rabie method, but it is permanent and will not wash out.)
3. Fili remaining smali bowl with water. Immerse one snowflake in the water and squeeze to remove excess; then immerse snowflake in stiffening solution and squeeze again to remove excess. Pin snowflake over blocking pattern with right side up, making surę curved parts are smooth, straight parts are straight, and symmetrical components within the snowflake are equal Repeat for remaining snowflakes. Allow snowflakes to dry completely; remove pins.
4. Use nylon linę to make a hanger for each snowflake.
