The oułomatic choke is controiied by o thermostat and the vacuum in the intake manifold. The thermostat is affocted by the exisłing oulside temperaturo os well as by the temperaturo of the heater element installed beside it which warms up when the ignition is switched on. The engine revolutions are odoplcd to suit the oper-ating temperaturo of the engine.

When starling the engine the driver has merely to ensure tha! the automatic choke is released by depressing the accolerator pedał either be-fore or during the starting procedurę.

Air Cleaner with Pre-heating

To improve the operating conditions when starting a cold engine, the carburetor is providcd with an appliance which couses warm air to be fed to it when idling and at Iow ongine revolutions. The warm air is drawn from the Ieft heater junction box by a flexible pipę and intake lube to the air cleaner. A flop valve with a balance weight at the intake tubę ensures that warm air is supplied to the carburetor in the lower speed rangę, and cold air at the medium and high ranges. To suit particular climatic conditions, the pre-heated air supply can be cut off by fixing the flap valve in the 8    opened position.
