MATERIALS: Crochet cotton no. 40, white, about 310 yds. Steel crochet hook US size 11 or SIZE FOR GAUGE. Hand-sewing needle.

GAUGE: Rnds 1-4 of Motif A = 2 5/8” in diameter. To obtain

mat about 27 1/2” in diameter, use crochet cotton no.5 and Steel crochet hook US size 2. NOTĘ : Before slarting pro-ject, see Completed Work diagram for motif arrangemenl and also addilional symbols. Tiny arrows show direclion of work.

MOTIF (a): Complete 8 Motifs (a) first. Form loop with end of thread. RND 1 : Ch 1, in Ip work 16 sc; close with sl st in first sc. RND 2 : Work * 1 dc (first dc = 3 ch) + 5 ch + 1 dc in same st, sk I st,
