Painted Walls

You will need primer: palni roller; painter‘s masking tape.- b!ue satin latex paint; watercolor pencil; black. blue. dark yeliow, gold. light yellow, pink. red. white, and yellow acrylic paints; painibrushes: acrylic glaze; sea sponge; I" fiat bnjsh; and large fiat brush.

1. Read Painting Walls. page 93 Prime walls: paini with blue latex and allow to dry.

2 To paint clouds. mix equal amounts of glaze with white and blue acrylic paints, keeping colors separate. Dip one end of sponge in blue and other end In white: sponge on wali to form cloud shape

3.    To paint sun. measure the heighl of your desk. Draw a 26" dia. half circle with watercolor pencil so that the bottom will rest on the desk. Basecoat half circle with light yellow.

4.    Read Painting Designs pages 93-94. Mix yellow and white paint in equal parts. Mix paint mixture with glaze in equal parts. Using large fiat brush, drybrush glaze/paint mixture in long strokes out from half circle to form rays.

5. To make darker rays, sideload 1" fiat brush with and white. Start at half circle and twist brush as you move it out to create a narrowing ray.

6 Dampen sponge: dip one side into dark yellow and] other side into white. Pat sponge almost dry on a clean rag: apply to face. turning sponge as you go. Using pink. repeat process for cheek area.

7. Enlarge face pattems 167% on photocopier. Read Transferring Pattems. page 94. Tracę, then transit eyebrows. eyes. nose. and mouth onto sun, Paint eyebrows and outline of nose gold, Paint eye area white; add blue irises. black pupiis, and smali white highlights. Ffcint lips red
