How to work... French knots

Step 1

USING a sharp embroidery needle, bring your needle up to the front of your fabric. Wrap your thread once around the needle. Fora larger knot, wrap your thread around again.

Step 2

HOŁD your thread taut in one hand and take your needle back down with the other. To prevent your knot escaping, take your needle down just slightly over from where you first came up.

Step 3

CONTINUE holding your thread taut as you finish your knot. Don’t worry if you don't get it right at first. Just keep trying until you’re comfortable with the process.
