CUT a ribbon length measuring about lOcm. Now hołd the ribbon horizontally, using both hands.
THREETOPTIPS... RIBBON FLOWERS
IUse a co-ordinating thread to secure your ribbon just in case your stitches are still on show after you’ve added the central button. If you've got a patterned ribbon, just choose the most prominent colour.
2 Use pinking shears to cut the ribbon to prevent fraying, or alternatively add a dab of PVA glue to your cut ends - this will do the trick too.
3 Choose a selection of different ribbon widths and textures to see which work well. Grosgrain ribbons hołd their shape well, whereas some woven cotton and silk ribbons are less rigid and can be morę difficult to work with.
THIS turnover can be used either way, as shown here, to create two subtly different effects.
THEN place the two ribbon ends on top of each other, right side up, and stitch together where they meet.
