Lounge Cover

You will need a comforter to fit window seat; yellow. pink, green. and fuchsia felt; Va* dia. yellow buttons;

2’ dia. buttons from covered button kits: green and yellow embroidery floss; and freezer paper

1.    Enlarge pattems, page 81.200% on photocopier. Tracę patterns onto freezer paper; cut out. Iron shiny side of freezer paper onto felt by lightly touching with iron. Cut out felt; remove freezer paper and repeat for desircd number ol llower and leaf sets.

2.    Arrange flowers and leaves on comforter as desired: pin in place. Knolting floss and leaving 7j" tails on the top of each button, use yellow floss to sew yellow buttons to lounge cover through centers of smali flowers.

3.    Cover remaining buttons with yellow felt. Sew a covered button to lounge cover through center of each large flower.

4.    Read Embroidering page 95. Straight stitch leaf pieces to lounge cover with green floss.

Fleecy Throw

You will need 2 yds of 60’w yellow fleece; fuchsia. green. pink. and yellow felt; W dia. yellow buttons;

2" dia button from covered button kit; green and yellow embroidery floss; freezer paper; and masking tape.

1.    Place masking tape 3" from cut edges of fleece.

Cut 7Av strips of fringe up to masking tape.

2.    Follow Steps 1-4 of Lounge Cover. above. to make and altach flowers and leaves.

Va lance

You will need a 7Av fiat tension rod to fit window, two standard size pillowcases. I"w pink polka-dot grosgrain ribbon, fuchsia felt. elear nylon thread. and a seam ripper.

4.    Enlarge paltem, page 81. 111% on photocopier. Using pattern. cut a length of scalloped fuchsia felt the same width as valance. Arrange felt on piliowcasę euff. Arrange ribbon on top of felt: zigzag along both edges of ribbon with nylon thread

5.    Press sides of valance ’/j" to wrong side twice; topsritch. For header and rod pocket. press top of valance 'h" to wrong side. Press 3^r to wrong side again and topstitch in place along fold. Measure

Shelf

You will need a picket bookshelf; primer; black, blue. dark pink. pink. red, and yellow aerylic paints: paintbrushes; V«" and '/••" fiat brushes: elear acrylic sealer; black polka-dot border stickers; and Mary Engelbreit flower and border stickers.

2 Read Painting Designs pages 93-94. Paint red ' swirls on pickets; add blue dots. Mix one part red and two parts dark pink; paint wavy stripes on shelves«ah the ^{1 2 3}A* and 'A" fiat brushes

3.    Decorate front edges of she!ves with border and flower stickers. Add border stickers to sides of front pickets.

4.    Apply sealer to bookshelf.

Polka-Dot Bolster Pillow

Yardages are based on 44/45V fabric.

You will need 7? yd pink polka-dot fabric, 'U yd plaid fabric. '/a yd fuchsia felt. two 7*" dia. green buttons, 14’ x 20" bolster pillow form. and green embroidery floss.

Mdlcń rigftl sides and use a seam allowance for alt świty; unless otfierwise indicated.

1.    Cut a 6" x 207i" strip of plaid fabric. Cut two

8" x 2073" strips of pink fabric. Using pattern. pageSI, cut iwo 2073" lengths of scalloped fuchsia felt.

2.    With scallops facing each other. pin one length of felt to each long edge of plaid strip. Sew one long edge of each pink strip to each long edge of plaid strip.

3.    Press remaining long edges of pink fabric 'A" to wrong side. Sew a gathering stitch along folded edgs;' but do not gather.

Mount curtain rod.

2.    Open seams of pillowcases so that fabric lies fiat. Aligning pillowcase euffs, sew pillowcases together along one short side with a 'h* seam allowance.

3.    To determine width of valance, measure length of rod; multiply by 2.5. To determine length of valance, measure from top of rod to desired finished length; add 3With euff as bottom edge. cut pillowcases to the determined measurements.
