It will automatically apply the update data once downłoaded. A progress bar shows you the status of the current action and a second progress bar shows the status of the overall updating operation.

During the updating operation messages are displayed in the main window showing the updates that have been appłied. In addition, the Data Updating Wizard also creates a history of updates that have been applied from the last 6 updates and reports which areas have been updated. When the updating progress is compłete, the 'Finish' button will be enabled which you can press to continue working with the ADP which will now be using the updated Information.

Requesting an Update using Email

Obtaining an update via email is a two stage process. You must first use the Data Updating Wizard to send an email request containing information about the Areas you wish to update. This will be processed automatically at the UK Hydrographic Office and email(s) will be sent immediateły with an attachment containing the data you need to update ADR When this update is received you can use the Data Updating Wizard to import the attachment or you can simpły double-click on the attachment to start the Data Updating Wizard.

If you select the 'Obtain updates from the UKHO\ ‘Send email to request update’ option in the Data Updating Wizard you will be given the choice of Areas for which you require an update. Select one or morę Areas from the list of Areas and press the ‘Next‘ button.

You are given the option to ‘Send the email now* or ‘Storę the request in a file to send later or to send from another PC*. If the Computer that you are running ADP on has email facilities then you should choose to email the request, otherwise you should storę the request in a file which you can send from a different Computer.

Send the email now

If you select this option and press *Finish\ the Data Updating Wizard will create an email message automatically containing all the Information needed to request your update. It is addressed to the UK Hydrographic Office with 'UKHOBLUR' on the subject linę of the email. You just need to ‘sond’ this email to complete your update request. The UKHO will respond with email(s) containing the update data as an attachment.

Storę the Request In a File to Send Later or to send from another PC

Selecting this option and pressing Next‘ displays the ‘Data Updating Wizard - Storę Update Request‘ screen where you can select the directory and filename to save the file to. Either type the fuli path and name into the text box or press the button to the right of the text box to browse to a directory and enter the filename. When you click Finish'. the required update information will be saved to the file you specified. You should send this file as an attachment to the email address specified on this page of the Data Updating Wizard and use the subject linę shown.
