When you are sent updates and permits to your AVCS or ARCS products they will be automatically applied to your back of bridge Planning Station but you will also need to apply them to each of your ECCMS.
These updates and permits can be applied to the ECDIS by clicking on Tools in the menu bar and setecting “Apply ECDIS updates”.

Planning Station saves the updates and permits in a format that can be read by any of your ECDI!
Within Planning Station you can create and edit a subset of your holdings, called a working folio. This allows you to identify and manage only those digitai and paper products that are relevant to your current voyage or area of operation. lf your Admiralty Digital Publications and Admiralty Paper Publications are out-of-date and new editions are available, these can be ordered from your Admiralty Chart Agent via Planning Station using the Catalogue screen.

In the interests of safety, it is important that your Admiralty products are kept up-to-date in linę with when they are availabłe. The weekly update cycle at the UKHO occurs on a Thursday.
Your updating options are as follows:
• Update using update CDs; AVCS, ARCS and AIO
• Update using a weekly update email from the UKHO
• Update by downloading the weekly update via UKHO website.
This section describes how to update Planning Station using the weekly update email. As a Planning Station user, within your subscription options you have the option to be sent the weekly update files automatically. The weekly update is handled differently depending on the communication method you are using. This section describes how to complete the weekly update using a removable drive. email and HTTPS.
lf you are set to receive the weekly update automatically, you wili receive two weekly update emails, one for AVCS and one for ARCS. The email will contain attachments similar to the following: e.g. AVCSUpdate2010WK24.ads or ARCSUpdate2010WK24.ads. These will need to be applied to your Planning Station to complete the weekly update.
3. Open the AVCS weekly update email and save the attached AVCSUpdate2010WK24.ads file to your removable drive.
4. Apply the AVCSUpdate2010WK24.ads file to your Planning Station, Tools > Apply update
