1. Open the ARCS weekly update email and save the attached ARCSUpdate2010 WK24. ads file to your removabie drive.
2. Return to your Planning Station PC, Click Tools > Apply Update, locate the ARCS update file and open it.
3. The ARCS update has now been applied. Updates that affect your holdings have been applied and the catalogue has been brought up-to-date. The automatic exchange set creation. like AVCS. will oocur at this point. If not, to create the exchange set select Tools > Apply ECDIS updates which will prompt the ‘Apply ENC/ARCS updates to ECDIS’ pop-up Window.

4. You can now check your holdings to see if any action is reguired.
5. If there has been a new edition ot an ARCS chart, the chart is displayed with red shading and the update status is displayed as 'New edition is available‘ which shows that the version on your ECDIS is out-of-date.
If you are using direct email as your communication method, the weekly update will be emaiłed to you weekly and will be applied automatically to your Planning Station The 'Apply ENC/ARCS updates to ECDIS' Window should pop-up automatically. If not, to create the exchange set, select Tools > Apply ECDIS updates which will prompt the ‘Apply ENC/ARCS updates to ECDIS' pop-up Window.
If you are using HTTPS, you will need to prompt Planning Station to check if a weekly update is available by requesting a catalogue update. This can be done from the Home screen by clicking on ‘Check My Status’ reguest.
If there are weekly updates to apply, Planning Station will automatically receive and apply the updates. The ‘Apply ENC/ARCS updates to ECDIS’ Window should pop-up automatically. If not, to create the exchange set select Tools > Apply ECDIS updates which will prompt the ‘Apply ENC/ ARCS updates to ECDIS’ pop-up Window.
