How to fringe the afghan

Begin the fringe for this design just to the outside of the woven borders beyond the 7 x 9 square of the afghan. Once you have completed the stitching, make a zig-zag stitch with a sewing machinę around the entire afghan along the outer woven border. Trim the afghan to within 2in of the outer woven border on all four sides. Puli the vertical fabric threads up to the zig-zag border to form the fringe.
