How to Manage a Mounted I)rive

Use a mounted drive to manage server resources morę efficiently. To create a mounted drive by using Disk Management:

1.    InComputer Management, open Disk Management.

2.    Right-click the volume that you want to mount, and then click Change

Drive Letter and Paths.

3.    Click Add. browse to Mount in the following empty NTFS folder,

and

then either type the path to an empty folder on an NTFS volume or click

Browse to locate it.

To delete a mounted drive by using Disk Management:

1.    InComputer Management, open Disk Management.

2.    Right-click the volume that you want to delete, and then click Change

Drive Letter and Paths.

3.    To delete a volume, click it, and then click Remove.

To create a mounted drive by using DiskPart:

1.    Open Command Prompt.

2.    From the NTFS drive or folder that you want to mount elsewhere, type

diskpart

3.    At the DISKPART prompt, type list volunie and then make notę of the

number of the volume that you want to mount elsewhere.

4.    At the DISKPART prompt, type select volume n (where n is the number of

the volume you want to mount elsewhere).

5.    At the DISKPART prompt, type assign mount=\P«//i(where Path is the

mount drive path that you want to assign to the volume).
