How to Create Striped Volumes

One way of managing your disks is to use dynamie volumes. To provide the

best performance for accessing large databases, for example, configure a

dynamie disk as a striped volume.

To create a striped volume by using Disk Management:

1.    InComputer Management, open Disk Management.

2.    Right-click the unallocated space on the dynamie disk on which you want to

create the striped volume, and then click New Yolume.

3.    In the New Volume Wizard, select Striped, and then fol Iow the instructions

on your screen.

To create a striped volume by using DiskPart:

1.    Open Command Prompt, and then type diskpart

2.    At the DISKPART prompt, type list disk

Make a notę of the disk number of the disk on which you want to create a striped volume.

3.    At the DISKPART prompt, type create volume stripe s\ze=n disk=/» (where size=// is the size of the disk in megabytes, and disk-//are the

numbers of the disks you are striping).
