talked in his presentation of the current situation and futurę possibilities for military tertiary education system in EU member countries. EU sees the Cardinal point in Lifelong Learning Programme declared for the period of 2007-2014 that assists developing a prime lifelong learning system, improving the quality of and availability of opportunities for lifelong learning. In the words of UD rector, the military education institutions should coordinate their efforts of utilising LLP administrative facilities and funds.
Academic education for defence should be considered in the context of European Lifelong Learning Programme, the University of Defence rector said. This evokes the idea of substituting „Military Lifelong Learning Programme" for „Military Erasmus" as the former expression suits better the EU countries effort of morę interconnected military training Systems.
Looking for New Ways The Czech representation presented during the seminar a proposal of establishing a new working group - QW6 - that would analyse existing EU students exchange programmes (ERASMUS, LEONARDO DA VINCI, GRUNDTVIG) looking for their possible application to defence academic education. Also, it supported finding feasible common points with NATO in the field of military training.
The three-day meeting of EU member countries' military schools representatives concluded by presented recommendations for next steps within Military Erasmus programme.
