The second semester s upcn us! Two weeks of school down, tweK/e morę to go!
I dec ded to give myself a bit of a break this semester and on!y take ^ classes for 12 credits. I did surorisingly well compared to how I thought I d d ast semester, but I stiil figured Pd go a little eas er on myself for round two. I'm hooing to soend morę time enjoying Freiburg and the summer weather this semester as well cn focus on some goals less academ c and morę persona.
So far the semester has started of really well! III g ve a little run down of my classes...
European Union: This c ass is through AYF and is all about, you guessed it, the EU! There's aoout 20 AYFers in the class and we will spend the semester leaming about the h story, goals, and achievements of the EU. I’m hop ng to leam a lot because I dcn’t really know that much about the EU.
American Modemism and the Rcaring Twenties: FYetty self exolanatory We’re reading the Great Gatsby, Manhattan Transfer, and Qu cksand. Sc far we’ve gotten a history of the 20’s and a taste of the culture and b g names of the time. There's qu te a few other Eng ish speakers in the c ass, but the majority is German. Should be a good class. I haven’t taken a literaturę class in a while so it should be enjoyaole!
Kle der machen Leute- Leute machen Ke der: This is a European Ethnology c ass focusing on texti e markets and the cuiture of clothes. We’!l be d scussing the history of sty es, traditional costumes, gender roles in clothes, transformations of fashion, ect. So far seems like an interesting class. I’ve never taken a class like this so Pm hoping for the best!
