Abstract

The monograph is dedicated to developing new methods for ultrasonic nondestructive testing of the mechanical properties of the materials. Their potential use in the study of thin elements of technical metals and alloys has been described.

The main attention is focused on identifying compresive and tensile strength parameters of the measured velocities of longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic waves and Poisson's ratio. Eąuations of the model can determine the ratio of ultimate tensile and compressive stresses and interpolate stress-strain curve.

The effects of temperaturę and speed of deformation upon elastic constants have been studied and Wertheim's anomaly and Nadai's paradox have been explained. The effects associated with high temperaturę and brittle of Steel in order to determine its maximum temperaturę plasticity have been researched, too .

A method for calculating the Transition Temperaturę of brittle behaviour on cooling has been discovered.

Ultrasonic critical-angle refractometry has been improved by developing two new methods based on leaky Raileigh or Lamb waves. Eąuations of numerical algorithms converges to identify the longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic waves with high accuracy.have been derived.

In conclusion, the phenomena connected with plastical instability of deformation and superplasticity of metals in terms of the theory of multiple elasticities have been analyzed.
