morphogenetical maps? Do the maps which include all of the data reąuired (i.e. morphometric, morphographic, morphogenetic and morphochronological data) rep-resent true geomorphological maps?
The definition of the scope of the geomorphological map’s content is a basie problem.
4. The problem of the introduction of the lithological and hydrographical data into the content of the detailed geomorphological map;
whether the geological and the hydrographical data ought to be introduced to the geomorphological map or not?
whether other maps ought to be used in the interpretation of the geomorphological content or not?
V. The principles of the detailed geomorphological map’s construction.
The principles will depend on the aim of the map:
a) to inform only of the distribution of landforms,
b) to inform both of the development and the characteristic features of relief.
1. The problem of the background: white, topographical, geological or hydrographical background, contours
2. The problem of the legend:
A. Extent of legend:
a) preservation of regional legends
b) introduction of a generał and uniform and comparable legend
B. Composition of legend:
a) a regional one according to the relief types
b) a monographical one according to the appearance
c) a genetical one
d) a chronological one
e) a chrolonogical-genetical one
C. The means of showing the elements of relief (landforms): by means of signs
by means of symbols
a) one-coloured or multi-coloured signs?
b) what does the oolour indicate: the type of relief?
the origin of forms? the age of forms?
both the age and the origin of forms?
c) the sign: does it signal the occurrence of forms?
has it to be true to scalę and to inform of the type of form as well as its morphometric features?
What do we want to show by means of the signs:
both the landforms and the elements of landforms whose origin has been
defined (e.g. valley-sides)?
or only the elements of relief (e.g. slopes)?
d) symbols, letters, numbers, lines, figures — the problem: whether to introduce them or not?
VI. The problem of the use madę of the detailed geomorphological map: whether to introduce other data, e.g. pedological data or not?
whether to show only the complete picture of relief forming a basis for the construction of the improvement maps or not?
VII. The problem of the ąualification and valuation of landforms:
whether a particular form is favourable for the development of different types of economy or not?
